Water-Jet

Cesco Magnetics Waterjet Machine

Water-jet cutting is a machining technology that uses pressurized water (60,000+ psi), combined with a small stream of abrasive particle (garnet). The mixture is focused through a tiny opening (.040”) for the purpose of cutting virtually any hard material such as metal, composites, stone or glass. The maximum material thickness is 6 inches with a cutting area of 4 feet x 8 feet; however, some larger sheets can be accommodated. Because water-jets cut without the use of heat, they leave a clean edge and reduce or eliminate the need for secondary finishing. Designs are limited only by one’s imagination. CESCO’s specialty is small runs or one-of-a-kind parts at reasonable prices and fast turnaround times. To significantly decrease the cost and expedite production, a CAD drawing or dxf file of the desired part is preferred. If this is not an option; CESCO is capable of designing and drawing the desired part(s) to maximize the efficiency of the jet while minimizing the use of material and cutting time.
